Question, if one has received a ship/package as a GIFT from a friend, can the received ship/package (gift) be then melted for store credits to buy a new one?

Also, can ships/packages received as a gift be "cross-chassis" upgraded when this will be available ?

As far as the ability to gift a ship/package to a friend, what is the current "down time" before the purchased ship/package can be gifted when it is the very first purchase of someone from CIG ? Is it 24 hours or 30 days ?
