Hi all,

I recently took the plunge and added a CH Pro Throttle USB to my T16000m. It wasn't easy to actually find threads on these forums for other users with stand-alone stick + CH throttle, so I thought it would be good to start one.

Let me start with a big shout out to @Vampyre for https://forums.robertsspaceindustries.com/discussion/211321/joyconfig4sc-a-joystick-configuration-tool-for-arena-commander-v-1-0-1a-compatible/p1 It allows you to effortlessly create the .xml to make these two different devices work together perfectly in Arena Commander.

Calibration
The T16000m doesn't really need software. It calibrates perfectly in the Windows game controllers panel.
CH Throttle on the other hand absolutely must be calibrated, since by default Windows gave me huge deadzones at both ends of travel. Thankfully CH software lets you calibrate, then apply deadzones, to ensure the throttle smoothly travels between 0-100% and that the ministick centers and travels to maximum deflection.

Stick button mappings
Personally I dislike a lot of the buttons on the T16000m. I find the trigger and button 3 are the only two I can use to fire weapon groups while the stick isn't centered. So I mapped multiple fire groups to the trigger for main lasers, and secondary lasers to button 3. Button 4 is OK for missiles. I put lock gimbals on button 2, since one click per session is about all it's good for :)
Throttle button mappings
That leaves most of the button load on the throttle, of course. I've found it very effective to map countermeasures and boost to the 3 buttons behind the throttle. I have strafe on one of the hats, power management on another. But still searching for a nice efficient plan for how to map different functions.
I've not tried the CH mini-stick yet, since it would be great for strafe only once Arena Commander implements analog rather than digital strafe. But what functions would be good on the mini-stick?

How are other CH throttle owners getting on? Any good tips?
