Was just curious if somebody has a similiar issue.
About a week ago I bought a GTX 970 to pair with my i2500k (non-OC) and was thrilled to try it out on Star Citizen. After the initial euphoria burst from running Free Flight on constant 60FPS, I tried launching Vanduul Swarm but to my surprise the FPS dropped to around 35, just after the NPCs spawned, and didn't once surpass the 45 barrier.
My CPU was running around 80-100% while GPU is licking it's **** of boredom at 60-70% load. It looks like a CPU bottleneck but I think it is quite powerful CPU still. Might be wrong though. What do you guys think?
i2500k@3.3Ghz
GTX 970@1500/4000Mhz
8GB DDR3 RAM 1333Mhz
7200rpm 1TB WD HDD
1080p 60Hz monitor
P.S.: I am getting a new MOBO/CPU Cooler combo to try and overclock my i5 to around 4.5Ghz and see if that helps.
