Greetings!
A friend of mine said I should sign up.
So here we go....
I have a habit of customising equipment. (uncontrollable)
At some stage I will have pictures to explain, and there is a post in the hardware forum.
Constantly fidgeting and sawing things up in the space hanger is normal.
Sometimes even running because walking wastes too much time.
Need more tools:
Drill press.
Mill.
Lathe.
Gas plant (for bronze joining)
and stock:
Steel and alloy. (various shapes extrusions etc)
Fasteners. (All steel alloy)
bearings. Sealed ball and/or PTFE and/or phosphor bronze.
EDUCATION is key.
Sharing data. Encouraging development. I can do it, so YOU can do it.
Design it, fab it, test it, work out where it wins/fails. Tweak/redesign.
Case in point: The foot controls I designed and fab'd worked better upside down
and back to front, which was not the way it was designed to be used at all. Even.
Possibly looking toward a slightly gothic/brass punk Joy stick setup that will blow your
eyebrows off. all I need is the stock, tools, and a bigger work bench...
more sometime in the future.
R. A.Forrester
PS. and then there is the space craft design I was working on..... (it's a wee thing, for hopping around the yard)
