Let me preface this by saying that I have always preferred a high degree of precision and responsiveness when it comes to my input devices and control schemes.

As I am attempting to fly my Mustang Alpha in the Arena Commander 1.0, I am becoming frustrating that my ship is flying like a dead whale carcass sliding through 3 dimensional space.

I have done research into the more popular HOTAS setups, such as the x52, x55, and Warhog. The Warhog is very expensive and with the potential to spend thousands on pledges, I am not looking to spend that much on a HOTAS. I was leaning towards purchasing the X55 because of its additional upgrades, allowing for control of ship menus, coupled flight, and strafing flight. However, seeing the frequent compaints towards the X55, such as dead zones and driver issues, I am less certain of it's potential effectiveness.

Are these issues really making the x55 nearly unusable? Is the x52 Pro more suited for atmospheric flight, being a disadvantage in StarCitizens Zero Gravity flight?

If there is any other input, issues or potential HOTAS candidates, I would be happy to hear.
