So I've been trying to get an MSI 970 for the past week now, neither Newegg or Amazon had any in stock (the Gigabyte one is too long for my case). So while I wasn't literally mashing F5 at work or anything, I have been kind of refreshing their page off and on today and noticed some really strange stuff going on.

Throughout the day, there were literally zero availability of 970s from any manufacturer listed. Then about 30 min ago I noticed both ZOTAC cards all of a sudden became availability, I saw it and though, 'meh I don't want that brand anyways. Then 5 min later I checked again and saw they were gone and thought, wow that fast. Normally Newegg displays all in-stock stuff up at the top of their list, followed by all the out of stock stuff (duh). But then I saw something really strange at the bottom of the list were the EVGA FTW cards with the add to cart button instead of notify. Now I knew the FTWs don't have the heatpipe issue that the others have so I thought why not, I'm tired of waiting.

So I proceeded to actually try to buy them and it actually let me much to my surprise. Then after I was done with checkout I refreshed the page just out of curiosity and the FTWs were already gone. Then 5 minutes later the ZOTACs came back available but then went back out of stock 5 minutes later. My guess is Newegg puts a hold on them for 5 minutes when you put them in your cart to give you a chance to not get botted. And as 5 minutes ago, both the ZOTAC and EVGA cards are now available...might want to get them while they last.

I just thought it was REALLY strange how there inventory seems to move so quick apparently. I don't really do this much hawk watching normally :)

Anyone else see some weird **** like this before?
