Here's the clearest look yet inside one of Intel's new, enthusiast-class CPUs. Sporting 6 to 8 hyperthreaded cores, these chips are Intel's newest and greatest short of high-end Xeon server processors. I plan on purchasing one of these, and expect it to be competitive for a half decade.

This bottom-end chip runs for about $400 on Newegg, and it's laid out here, easy to see. If there's any computer geekery in you, you want to see this.
