I have been following the game for a while but only in the last few days did I pledge. After looking though the ships available I chose the 325A because it thus far fits what I believe I want in the PU a small somewhat fast ship with descent weaponry and a bit of cargo space for running supplies and trade though more rough and tumble areas of space.

After playing a good bit the past few days (since 0.9 launched didn't play before) I see a lot of promise in this game and believe I want to back more than the 80 I have thus far. The aiming system as it is currently is rough in my opinion but its manageable. I do thing a slight diameter of auto aim for gimballed weapons and having fixed weapons gimbal slightly to adjust convergence distance would fix most of the complaints people have.

on to my main question. I love the look of the Avenger, the hornet just looks mean and I like that as well. I am now able to get to wave six and seven on swarm with my 325 using kb+m because combat is easier though can fly better with controller (my old hotas is shot). I want to keep playing bot and spectrum matches and would like a more fighter style ship. Should I wait for the avenger to be avaliable to fly on AC or go ahead with the hornet? I will most likely end up getting the other in PU so ill eventually have both I do believe. Along with those two options would it be worth it to instead upgrade to the M50 and get the 325 in the PU

While it's likely you have already made your choice i feel like the question could use an answer, so the answer to this relates to what exactly you want to be doing with the fighter once the persistent universe hits, If you want to have superior dogfighting skills and to be the current king of combat, go with the hornet, the thing is made solely for combat and can outperform almost any ship in dogfighting and general combat however with short range and without variants no cargo space there will be no trading or exploration for you The Avenger however is more made for the interceptor and bounty hunter rather than dog fighter, with holding cells, cargo capacity and a bed as well as jump drive capabilities and high tier engines, the avenger is far more versatile, though less effective in strict dogfighting than the hornet, the avenger is made for catching wanted men, quickly disabling their ship and then bringing them in with your holding cells, but with its speed it would make for a fast cargo carrier as well In conclusion if you're looking for a short range powerful top of the line dog fighter albeit with little to no versatility, go with the hornet but if you want a longer range, faster interceptor with cargo carrying capabilities, but less powerful in dogfighting, go with the avenger The ship most different to yours would be the hornet, as the avenger functions more similarly to the 300 series as a fast, longer range, cargo capable ship whilst the hornet is a short range dog-fighter that can and win most battles its put into. hope this helps anyway, and if you have made a decision let me know which one you picked :D
