So many have thought that the cell phone industry driving LCD technology would be a major boon to the Rift. In reality it appears that the goals/characteristics of a VR display is just plain different from the current cell phone direction. Given that the Rift is currently using samsung Galaxy Note 4 screens, they are having issues convincing Samsung to make tech changes to better suit VR.
