I am a bit late to the party and have seen the plans in regards to economy, as well as the choices for the wave 4 ships.

That being said, I was wondering about player opportunities to research tech, modify and alter equipment, and the ability to actually manufacture. I have noticed the science/hospital ship (endeavor), and wish I was there for the reclaimer when it hit concept. Considering the endeavor, what precisely do they mean by science; is it just a placeholding name since it is a hospital ship, or can you actually research on it?

So I wanted to know if there are any current comments or plans that already noted these points, and what ships may eventually have a role in it. Currently I am thinking of going for the orion as at least I will have a possible way to get my own resources with a ship that already has a lifetime hull warranty.



Second Question:
Warranties:
When you get lifetime warranty, is this literally hull only, or does this also include the stock fittings and hardpoints? I understand this doesn't include cargo, but I really wouldn't want to have to replace the tractor beams and lasers every time as well.
