So after watching the Next Great Starship, I wanted to see how hard it would be to make my own ship. The idea I chose is a rival to the Retaliator bomber. It is Origin's answer to an early bomber design, one before carriers. Instead of the fortress style of the Retaliator the Iscariot(name subject to change) is more like the B-58 and B-1 bomber. A fast bomber with minimal defenses, if any, and small profile.

The sketch is still coming together, it being a mix of the B-58 the Origin 300i concept, B-1, and Starfury. The Starfury is mainly for it's engine lay out. What I plan on giving the 234 is a simpler thrust control. With this the engine is the first thing I worked on. Since the Starfury never really showed how it's engine worked I had to design my own.

What I'm calling the Origin Binary Star XL and XS are twin engines. I have what would be a full scale engine in the rear, and a 3/4 portion engine in front. The hydrogen scoop would funnel into the gap between the engines and feed both. The front of the engine pulls the duty of both retro, and control thrusters. My idea is to give this ship a high power-to-weight ratio instead of armor of weapons. Because the engines have a void I made the intakes a mirror for each "engine" so they can spin the same shaft so power is constant regardless of which is being used.

The "computer" would limit how much power the front facing ports could use for the fact of both killing the crew through G forces and possibly just ripping from the ship itself. The control thrusters having a higher power should allow for more rapid course change then most ships of its size.

As for speed the "defense" would be a single turret in the rear, and shear speed. Mission profile is engage enemy capital ships, star bases, or planetary bases at high speed, and retreat at even higher.

As for further details they will come once I flesh out the model some more. But to give some pictures, theses are the Binary Star XL without covering. I still want to add more detail to the engines, but that will come with time.
