Updated 02/06/2015 for AC 1.0.2

This is a work in progress control config for Arena Commander (and eventually Star Citizen) that I have been working on. This will obviously continue to change as CIG refines their control system. I plan to eventually add specific control setups for the other two modes on this HOTAS (think different modes for combat, mining, exploration). Please feel free to use this and provide feedback. I would love to hear about any ideas or changes others feel would make the control scheme even better!

Download these two files:
Star Citizen_V6.1.pr0
Step 1: Place the pr0 file in "C:\Users\Public\Documents\Mad Catz\X-55 Rhino" then right-click rhino icon in system tray and activate profile. Icon should now be green.
Step 2: Place the xml file in "StarCitizen\CitizenClient\USER\Controls\Mappings". Default Star Citizen installation is in the Documents folder I believe. You may want to save it somewhere else in case the next patch deletes it.
Step 3: Launch Star Citizen and in options go to the "Joystick / HOTAS" section, click "Advanced Control Customization", and choose "JoystickSaitekX55-Xamindar_V6.1".

Mode Switch:
Mode 1: Controls are set to the Mode 1 image. Strafe and brake use a momentary boost (3 seconds) while held down.
Mode 2: Same as Mode 1 except strafe does not include boost. Good for more gentle maneuvers while racing and to conserve afterburner fuel.
Mode 3: Hat 3 on the throttle has been set to navigate the HUD. G button enables HUD navigation and F button toggles HUD items. See Mode 3 image below.
Note: Tap TGL4 up to enable/disable self destruct, hold it up for ~500ms to eject.

Thanks for any and all feedback and hope you enjoy using this!

Update 2015/02/06 - Updated instructions for the new location from patch 1.0.2 onward.
Update 2015/01/16 - V6.1: In light of the Mustang using three weapon groups, I have swapped the countermeasure and weapon group 3 buttons as I find the pinky button more comfortable than the paddle. Also fixed scoreboard so it will show even when dead.
Update 2015/01/01 - V6: Added HUD navigation to Mode 3. Added rear view to SLD. Changed a couple controls on the Joystick HATs.
Update 2014/12/20 - V5: Remade the config for AC V1.0 as the old xmls did not work anymore. Most commands are set inside of Arena Commander now. The only controls still in the Saitek software are functions that you can not do inside of Arena Commander (Strafe+boost, rotary dial, eject and self destruct... and so on).

Additional ****:
Here is The Gimp file I created for the control scheme image if you would like to make your own:
I would encourage anyone who makes their own control scheme to post it (or a link to it) in this thread. Would be great to have a bunch of different styles to choose from!

Here are some additional images of how I currently have my sensitivity and deadbands set up in the Saitek software. I added them to provide ideas for your setup. You will need to experiment with the values on your own as I doubt every joystick is exactly the same.
The x and y axis are both set up this way. You can calibrate the axis in the software and after that they are centered pretty well. I only needed to add a deadband of 5 to the joystick:

I set a deadband of 10 for the rudder/roll/twist. It doesn't need to be precise so it can even be set larger if desired. But for me it never rolls on it's own so this works:

This one is important for decoupled. Rotary 1 is set to move you forward or backward and you likely do not want it interfering when decoupling (specially when racing). I needed a large deadband on mine to prevent it from providing any input when centered:

I added a small deadband of 20 to my throttle to ensure it always goes to 100% throttle. This is important during races or any time you want to make sure you go at max speed:
