I posted this in another thread, but thought I'd make a new thread for it to give some exposure to it, and possibly giving others ideas on a cheap setup.

The seat is a car seat I got off of Craigslist. I forget what I paid for it, but I think it was around $60. You can probably find something even cheaper at a u-pull-it car lot.

Base is made out of US PVC tubing (1 1/2) and glued up using PVC glue/cement. I don't have actual dimensions, I just built it on the fly. I have "ports" in the tubing framework for side mounts for throttle/joystick but the old box is working out well so I'll probably keep it like this for the near future. I added some weight on the bottom interior of the box to give it some stability on the carpet. I'll probably paint the PVC at some point but it's working for now. (about 2 weeks old)

Also, the Warthog stick mod uses a Gardenia hose connector I got off amazon which I hacked up. The top plastic piece is up top, mounting to the grip, and the 2 metal rings thread into the top and bottom stick base. The tube is some random threaded plastic tube I found in the plumbing section when I was looking for the copper adapters others use. There is a bit of an angle to the tube, due to ******** the ring on the threads but it's workable. The base to grip electronics are connected with a modified PS2 keyboard adapter. The whole extension twists if you twist too much so I wrapped the tube and connections with some strong aluminum-backed duct tape that I had around. This keeps things more rigid and works for me, but I'm not very heavy-handed.

The two other joysticks I have are the CH Flightstick Pro and Combatstick which I used before getting the Warthog bundle during the holidays. The Warthog throttle is **** but has a lot of odd switches and buttons on it. One modification I did was to take some Sugru (moldable glue/rubber) and make a better gripping strafing hat. I also put an extension to the mouse "nub" to give it more of a stick to it, but haven't really used that for much at this time. I have it mapped to freelook aim but it's not easy to use, at least not when running raw Warthog inputs in without TARGET adjustments. I'll play with it more later. I got both the extension and sugru ideas off the forums.

I also recently picked up that little Lepai amp with bass output and crossover, which will drive a "AuraSound AST-2B-4 Pro Bass Shaker Tactile Transducer" for some bass feedback, at some point. I'll mount it somewhere on my seat. Right now it's driving my old 90s Cambridge Soundworks stereo speakers + sub.

Also note the DK2 patiently waiting for proper support.

Sorry for the dust, cameras pick up every tiny thing.

Anyways, not the fanciest setup out there, but my seat setup and mods run me under $100 for everything.
