Here is my suggestion for a great holiday to be celebrated in Star Citizen!

Citizen's Day.

Date: Whatever date the PU goes live. It would be celebrated for one week each year.
Celebration: This holiday celebrates the contributions that everyone has made in the Verse in all their various occupations and ways each year.
Festivities: Key battles defending a civilization or colony, amazing tech upgrades or advancements made for the past year, great mining contributions, discoveries, etc. would be recognized.
Even possible "special" rooms, parties for VIP backers (various original ticket holders or Citizens with early backing #'s) could be possible. Different special events or activities could accompany this day across the Verse in various levels and different ways.

People could travel from all over the reaches of space to a "hosting" planet (which could change each year) to enjoy the festivities and also get some kind of special item for attending (award, poster, etc.)

Aside from the creative nature of celebrating and congratulating big events from the previous year and players' contributions, it would forever commemorate the launch of the PU, which will be close and dear to the hearts of countless citizens for all generations to come...after all of our initial pilots are distant memories.

Here's to hoping! :)
Sincerely,
General Jack Oneill
