I am debating melting both my ships (Alpha/beta Connie, LTI Herald) to purchase the LTI Carrack when the sale starts. Now I don't think I'll actually go through with it (since Alpha access is pretty rare nowadays...). But if I did, and I no longer had any ships over the period of time from melting them down to purchasing the Carrack, would I be kicked out of my own organization for not having a ship?
