Hello all,
yesterday, I replaced my two 580GTX Cards with two 970GTX ones.
(Machine has a 68x based board, 16GB RAM, 4 HDDs in Raid0, 2700k CPU,...)
The difference within Arena Commander is probably not remarkable.
The two 580s had no problem to run AC with high frame Rates.
But if it comes to the Hangars... especially the Asteroid Hangar, the difference is exorbitant.
The Asus GTX580DCII Cards have 1.5GB VRAM each. The result was that there were missing textures and Frame rate(while moving around) was dropping sometimes even below 20 (Hangar and Ship visible). It was a must to have quality setting at Medium to be at least "acceptable".
With the two GTX970 (ASUS STRIX) with 4GB VRAM each, and of course... new generation GPUs, the difference is really remarkable. Industrial Hangar, Constellation in front of me and Frame rates are perfect.
