A documentary from 2013 caught my attention... interesting.

I've been saying for a while now, including on these boards, how pretty much all that has interested me recently has been on the Indie side of the fence (Star Citizen included).

This documentary is REALLY re-enforcing that view... I'll go one further now, I think the Indies are actually SAVING the game industry from a slow death of endless serialization, copies of copies of copies of concepts, and the absolute death of creativity. Even if you don't like the game, you have to cheer some of these independents on, if for no other reason the good they are doing for the entire industry.

I think a big concern that the major publishers face now is the talent drain. They simply can not hire these people, they are too happy where they are. Even when Eric Peterson leaves... does he go to a big publisher? ***** no! He starts up his own little indie project.

Who will be left working at EA, Activision etc. in 10 years?!?

(mods, I can see an argument that this belongs in 'general', I posted here because it is about other games, plural in the macro sense... feel free to move this if you disagree)

Ohhhh kay... I posted this in 'other games' and made the note that it could be in general if a mod wanted to move it.... arguments for either there... but, uh... New Recruits? Really?!? lol Was it moved? or did I somehow screw up and post in New Recruits? (I'm never in there, so don't see how)
