Long story short, I'm working on a ship (concept art phase currently) that will get modeled if the interest is there. Overall the ship will be about Connie/Retaliator size, possibly larger.

What I'm hoping to get critiques on is the overall concept behind the ship. It is being built as a combat/long range search and rescue role, but could easily be multitasked for dangerous area shipping or piracy.

2x C5 S4 turrets (Chin and tail mounted)
6x C2 missile racks (4x S1 2x S2)
2x C1 S2 gimble mounts
2x potential point defense

Firepower wise, it is very comparable to a Connie. It'll be fairly fast but nowhere near the most maneuverable ship out there. Cargo would be very restricted to 2-500 units or so for a very good reason. The ship will come with a well equipped med bay, but other modules can roll off and on into the cargo bay.

Main feature of this ship is the 2x void hangers on top to handle small ships with docking collars. Think of this like a very tiny escort carrier with a 6-10 man crew counting pilors. The fighters (probably avengers) would be set up for search and rescue from the mothership. That said, there would be nothing to stop another small ship from blowing the hangar doors and docking. Additional docking collar would be on the belly near the cargo hold.
