Ahoy everyone,

exactly two years ago, I've signed up on a simple homepage, that promised nothing else but "being part of Robert's new space sim" - whatever that meant, nobody knew. And you can't tell me that you did, because not even the Daam K'Vosh could have foreseen this 'change of history'. Ok, I might be going over the top a bit, but no words could express how excited I've been when I've had seen the first teaser for their game - yet idea.

My love to space sims was found in my childhood, when Elite on the C64 was the first 3D-ish game I've experienced. Flying space ships in an endless galaxy, filled with planets, stations and dangers, trying to survive, trade and explore. Ever since it was my favorite genre. Unfortunately a genre that hasn't received much love/attention from the game industry. Wing Commander and Freelancer were amazing and just perfect games in my eyes. Still, nothing had followed for a long time. Once Microsoft had shut down all the multiplayer servers, and playing the singleplayer campaign for a tenth time, I did lust for something new. And they delivered, with Star Citizen.

I've almost given up the hope for a Freelancer sequel/successor, spent the waiting time with Freelancer mods, such as Discovery, which I now played for four years, and still do sometimes. And someone who has waited twelve years, can wait another four (or now two).

So here I am, introducing myself - somewhat belated. I can't really explain why I escaped this place once the website has gone public, and the kickstarter hype began, however I prefer watching things from the distance. And I've to say, that I'm highly satisfied on how this idea has developed within the last two years. I'm very eager to see the finished product. Until then, I won't criticize anything - yet another reason why I kept distance to forum discussions. I'm thankful for whatever the result will look like. And the more I read/see, the less I fear to be disappointed.

Well, I haven't said anything about me yet, so here we go; I'm German, almost twenty-three years old, studying Embedded Systems Engineering in Freiburg, and I'm a admirer of Chris' work. That's all there is to know.

Thanks for reading. Hope I didn't bore you too much.

Regards,
Narc
