K so I'm to understand that landing on planets is going to be like the old dusty game mechanic we've been stuck with since well, the advent of pc gaming. We don't even do the actual landing it's gonna bea cut scene AND were being restricted to a few zones. :/ Need I say more lol.

The tech already exists to allow us access to full scale planets with a complete ecosystem, atmospheric flight and the ability to land anywhere. Im sure CR is not ignorant of Sean Murray and his project. 4 people and far less funds, so I'm confused as it seems procedural gen solves almost all the problems one could imagine when it comes down to giving players the vastness they never thought possible. Even if it wasn't fully developed it'd still give players something they never experienced in a space title. Over time more features could be added. I understand that the seeding process fallows rules set by the developer. It could even generate random seeds of intelligent beings- their civilizations - place in Social evolution wether primitive or advanced and everywhere in between. Then a settler mechanic can be added. That would surely complete the needs of an explorer for this title. Am I just missing some info?
