Quick question, after playing with manual landing I found my current HOTAS (X-52) to be lacking in one specific area.

I'm above average at sims and specifically helicopter sims so frankly the landing mechanics come fairly naturally, unfortunately my pedals faded years ago and I'm not interested in a new set so I am short one axis.

Carrying out swift manual landings without a decent axis for strafe up/down makes them extremely slow or bumpy.

So, to the question...I'm thinking of grabbing an X-55 Rhino but wanted to know if the split throttle is what I'm looking for. I was thinking one side for strafe up/down and one side for throttle, maybe the strafe up/down only in decoupled mode.

Either way does anyone have any experience with trying to use the X-55 Rhino HOTAS in this way?
