CONCEPT

The Vertigo class is a type of ship that does not use manoeuvring thrusters as the main tool to change its orientation. These ships do use huge gyroscopes that are able to turn the ship around just as fast (some directions even faster) than the thrusters. That causes the ships to be fuel efficient since the only source of thrust is the main engine. This particular ship uses three gyroscopes rotating around axis perpendicular to each other. Only main thruster and a retro thruster (utilizied as a landing thruster as well) are installed. It has three Class 4 turrets on each gyroscope (area covered is close to 360° thanks to the gyro orientation. And I am thinking of one Class 1 or Class 2 weapon or even possibly none and only Class 3 pylon.

The first sketch does show all three gyros that give the pilot the ability to turn the ship around and maintain control of the ship.

The second sketch shows more about the position of the gyros (with their axis perpendicular to each other)

The final sketch that shows the first thoughts of the ship in 3/4 view as well as its weaponry (three manned turrets and two static cannons.
